Coffee

Coffee is the most popular beverage in the world. The International Coffee Organization (ICO) says some 1.4 billion cups of coffee are poured every single day! It doesn’t matter how you take your coffee - if you brew it, or make it from the instant mix, the fact remains that people need coffee to function in their daily lives.

Coffee undergoes a long process before it even gets to your cup. The coffee cherries are allowed to ripen under the sun and are often hand-picked so only the best beans are dried and roasted to perfection. There are different coffee varieties and hundreds of coffee blends from various regions.

Cappuccino

There are countless permutations of the espresso, and the cappuccino is said to be one of them. This is another popular coffee drink characterized by velvety smooth foam and a sprinkling of cinnamon or chocolate powder on top. The drink consists of one or two shots of espresso which is mixed with steamed milk.

Cappuccino is considered a fashionable beverage to drink in most cafes and diners. Although, Italians would say you shouldn’t drink a cappuccino after 10 am. Whether you follow that rule or not, it is totally up to you.

Espresso

Italians have a unique way or culture of drinking coffee. Espresso was only born in the 19th century with the arrival of the steam-driven coffee machine. The Italians coined the word espresso because of the very thick and highly-concentrated drink that results from forcing very hot water into finely ground coffee.

The coffee must be pumped in at very high pressure to get the most flavor and freshness. The result is a specialty beverage served in tiny cups and downed in one gulp. For Italians, mornings are not complete without a shot or two (doppio) of espresso. There’s something about fresh ground coffee expressed before your very eyes.
